Simulator Sickness Questionnaire (SSQ)
From EuroVR Knowledge Base
Description
The SSQ is used to assess sickness symptoms. Scores are obtained on three subscales: nausea, oculomotor and disorientation. Kennedy et al. (1993) assert that the symptom levels on these subscales can help to indicate the main causative influence on sickness, e.g. if the oculomotor subscale score is higher than those of the other two subscales, then this indicates that the visual display characteristics of the environment may be responsible for the high level of symptoms. The Simulator Sickness Questionnaire is administered prior to VR immersion and post-VR immersion.
