Objectives
The aim was to develop a navigable VR environment for dose calculation and task planning. The tool simulates human tasks and calculates in a very efficient way the doses received.
Main Results
- Scientific results:
Planning of maintenance activities in a nuclear or radioactive installation providing algorithms to estimate dose and time as well as means to evaluate physical feasibility regarding tasks execution.
- Material results:
Prototype of a planning tool for human interventions in radiological environments.
- Applicative results
Pilot application for Almaraz (Spain) nuclear power plant comprising 3D models of the radiological environment with identification of relevant parameters, location, dimension, intensity, and type of source being requested for dose calculation.
End Users
- Almaraz nuclear power plant (Spain)
